| NEWS AND TIPS If you would like to receive my monthly tips straight to your inbox along with the CMB newsletter (full of tips on how to keep your unique colouring and style up to date) email me your details and I will add you to my emailing list. January 2012 Well today is Miserable Monday, supposedly the most depressing day of the year! So how are you feeling today? Personally, this lovely sunshine and a good amount of comfort food is getting me through it very nicely! But if you are struggling, then think about putting some colour into your outfit choice tomorrow to try and lift your mood. Read my blog What does your purple top say about you - The language of colour to find out which are the most cheerful colours.
If you don’t know which are your most flattering colours then do think about coming along to me for a Colour Consultation. As well as enabling you to save time and money when shopping for clothes, and always looking good, I guarantee you will have a lot of fun (especially if you come with a friend, mother, daughter, sister!)!
Interested in the red-carpet outfits of the Golden Globes last night? Here is a link to Vogue’s gallery of photos. There were some stunners (see Angelina Jolie above). Amongst my favourites were Paula Patton and Berenice Bejo. I found myself a little disappointed with Helen Mirren, Glenn Close and Meryl Streep who all chose very dark or black colours (maybe to denote their authority and gravitas?!) but all of whom look their best in the much paler colours.
December 2011 Well we are really galloping towards Christmas now and no doubt you are starting to feel the pressure! I know I am! If, like me, you don’t have all your Christmas gifts in hand, let me make a few suggestions that I can help you with. I am going to be giving the wonderful new Colour Me Beautiful book, “Make-Up Manual” to several of my friends. It won’t be in the shops until January so, if you would like to get some copies , just contact me! You might also consider giving a Gift voucher for one of my services (Colour, Style, make-Up lesson) to someone who might prefer a lasting experience rather than a “thing” as a gift. The colourful Colour Me Beautiful pashminas and cosmetics would also make lovely gifts! Just contact me if you would like to pop round to have a look!
My Christmas Open Evening last Thursday was great fun! I love having the chance to catch up with my clients, many of whom I have spent several hours with, up in my studio during their consultations. Thank you to all who came and gave me such positive comments on my scarf-tying presentation. Whether in a pretzel, a plait or an infinity, we are all wearing our scarves differently now! Thank you to Skin Bistro (Andrea) who brought her lovely organic skincare products along, to Lorna Kyle who brought her gorgeous hand-made greetings cards and pictures (catch her next Sunday at Richmond Artisan food and Craft market, Heron Square), and Nadia Downs who painted our nails beautifully and provided us with delicious cupcakes. http://www.skinbistro.co.uk/
Finally, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year, and I look forward to seeing you some time in 2012! November 2011 First of all I want to let you know that I will be having my Christmas Open Evening on Thursday 1st December. You are warmly invited to drop in any time between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. I intend to do a short presentation at 8pm on different ways to tie a scarf, amongst other things. There will be wine, nibbles and CUPCAKES! As well as the opportunity to get some Christmas presents with Colour Me Beautiful books, scarves and make-up, beautiful hand-made greetings cards (made by craft fair inveterate Lorna Kyle) and some lovely jewellery and some very on trend fake fur tippets. In addition to all that you can have your nails painted and shaped by Nadia for £5! So do put the date in your diary and feel free to bring along friends and relatives too! RSVP please if you would like to come (for catering purposes)!
The latest news from Colour Me Beautiful is that we now have a new book out called “Make-Up Manual”.
This book has everything you need to know about:
Caring for your skin Identifying the right colours for you Applying every type of make-up Creating different looks Adjusting make-up for every age All the finishing touches It will not be on sale in bookshops until January, but if anyone can’t wait that long, or would like to give it as a Christmas Present, I do have some in stock already. They will also be available at my Christmas Open Evening! Do have a look at www.shoesofprey.com ! It is a design your own shoes company where you choose the heel height, fabric, colour and toe shape. They make them for you and send them off. I haven’t tried them yet but one or two CMB consultants have and are delighted. My blog this month deals with How to dress for an Interview. If ever there was a time when it is crucial to make a good impression, it is at an interview! So read on if you want to know how to do it! “First impressions are highly influential despite the well-worn admonition to never judge a book by its cover. Within a tenth of a second of seeing an unfamiliar face we have already made a judgement about its owner’s character – caring, trustworthy, aggressive, extrovert, competent and so on. Once that snap judgement is formed, it is surprisingly hard to budge.” From the article “In Your Face” — New Scientist Feb 2009. Furthermore, in a recent survey 65% of bosses interviewed said that clothes could be the deciding factor between two similar candidates! So, as part of your preparation for an interview it is vitally important to give serious thought to your outfit and image! Here are my 10 Top Tips for Interview Confidence! Facebook: Finally, if you would like to receive more snippets from me over the month and are on Facebook, do Like my Facebook page Angela Weyers Image Colour Me Beautiful October 2011 Well, what a wonderful and unexpectedly hot start to October! It feels so great to still not have the heating on or be wrapped up in cosy knitwear. All the same, this is the week that I am washing all my light summer clothes ready to put away and make room for the thicker clothes in my wardrobe. It is important to store clothes clean as they will be less susceptible to moth damage that way. If you don’t have a spare wardrobe, think about getting some vacuum storage bags. John Lewis does a selection here.
I have had a very busy month doing a weekend of colour consultations in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, more at a You and Your Wedding magazine Mother of the bride event in Chelsea, and a Colour Me Beautiful meeting in Bristol. Not to mention lots of Colour and Style consultations, (and Wardrobe Weeding in the presence of a gorgeous 5 month old baby!)
Two exciting things to tell you are that Colour Me Beautiful is launching a new book “Make-up Manual”. It is a fantastic guide to every aspect of make-up including tips for your particular eye-shape, faceshape and colouring. It should be in the shops in January, but I am hoping to have copies for sale in November.
In addition to that, I now have some newly launched Tinted Moisturisers in 3 perfect shades. These are basically a sheerer version of the ever popular Morning Light Foundation. Perfect for those who don’t like the idea of foundation but would like to cover up a little bit. Do contact me if you would like to come and have a try!
Finally,if you have had a Style Consultation with me, you will know that I bring out a Style Update guide twice a year. It is an overview of the season’s trends as well as a guide to who can wear what. I am now publishing it as a blog, as well as a handout, so everyone can have a look and keep up to date!Autumn/Winter 11 Style Guide and Autumn/Winter 11 trends
June 2011 This month sees the start of the summer sales. I have one piece of wisdom on this subject: A bargain is not a bargain if you never wear it, no matter how big a reduction in price you got it for! Those of you who have had a Colour and Style consultation will already know what suits you, so stick to your rules and you can't go wrong!
Just to let any Kettlewell ( http://www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/) fans know that certain items will be discontinued after this season. So stock up on them if they are your favourites. The stripe range and the rib and lace cardi and vest are all limited edition for one season only. The cotton stretch range (Pages 26, 34, 42, 60 in the catalogue) and the Easy knitwear range (page 33) will be discontinued at the end of the summer. All about hair evening - May 12th ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | M&M Hair Academy |
The All About Hair evening I held with M&M Hair Academy was a great success. More than 20 people attended and learnt about the significance of faceshape, skintone, personality and hair-type in choosing the perfect style for you. Mo Nabbach, M&M stylist, showed off his advanced cutting techniques on a model and even gave a demonstration of how to get a lovely curly finish to long hair. In the raffle, Beccy L. won a free cut and colour with Mo. She sent me this email after she had her hair done. "I'm very pleased I won the raffle and will definitely visit Mo again and will recommend him to friends." Julia R. won a Personal Shopping trip with me which we did on 31st May. Julia needed special occasion attire and she went home with several outfits, including a hat! We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! My latest blog is about Hot Weather Bridal Make-up. Many people go abroad to hot destinations to get married these days. Make-up can be a problem as it can melt and slide down the face. Not a good look on your wedding day (or any other day)! My blog give you lots of tips to stay matt and perfect all day long whether you are getting married or just want to look lovely on hoilday! April 2011 Hello,
I imagine there is no one today who is not enjoying this gorgeous weather! I have a top tip: this season's trend of long, flowing skirts is brilliant when you are caught out by unseasonally hot weather. It keeps you cool, on trend AND you don't need to fake tan or shave your legs! I have dug one out of my wardrobe (bought 13 years ago in Bicester Village!) and am wearing it now.
Below is Colour Me Beautiful's wonderful April Newsletter on the Colour Blocking trend. Do have a look as it has some lovely combination suggestions according to your colour type!
I would just like to apologise to Roberta Sabatini of The Italian Specialist. I put an incorrect link for her website last month. Here it is again, hopefully correct this time! Roberta Sabatini The Italian Specialist |
| Event: All about hair evening ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | M&M Hair Academy |
So many of the questions that I am asked during consultations are about hair! What colour should I go, to cover my greys? What styles would suit me? Could I go blonde? Well I have decided to combine my knowledge with that of my wonderful hairdresser Mo and arrange a Hair Masterclass evening at Mo's salon, M&M's Hair Academy in South Ealing Road. Mo is a hugely talented, award-winning hairdresser who is frequently asked to style hair for photo shoots including for the latest book by the artist Alison Jackson "Kate and Wills Up the Aisle" (just released). A book of look-alike royals! The event will be held on Thursday May 12th at 7.30pm. So please do save the date. I will be sending out invitations with more details nearer the time. |
Yaffa Meskell; Photographer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some of you will have met my very good friend Yaffa at my Christmas event. She now has a website up and running on which you can view some of her fantastic photographs (she took the one of me at the top of this newsletter!). http://www.yaffameskellphotography.co.uk/ Yaffa specialises in making women (in particular) look and feel beautiful in their photographs. And she doesn't cost a fortune unlike some photography studios! She is so warm and friendly she puts everyone at their ease and I guarantee you will have a laugh too! So whether you need photographs for a special event, business shots or want to go for her Boudoir option, do give Yaffa a call. 020 8992 4030 |
My Blog ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My latest blog is the third and final part to my Guide to this season's trends. This one focuses on Accessories. Just wearing the latest trend in a scarf or a bag can be all you need to do to update your look and keep yourself looking young. In fact I got myself a silk, floral scarf from M&S yesterday and feel very Spring 2011 now! So do have a read of my blog to find out which accessories will be perfect for you. http://angelaweyersimage.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/my-springsummer-2011-style-guide-accessories/ |

March 2011 |
Welcome to my new look Newsletter! I have been having lots of trouble sending out my news this month hence I have had to find a new way of doing it. That is also the reason it is so late. Apologies for that! Do let me know what you think of this format.
Below is Colour Me Beautiful's March Newsletter (email recipients only). This time the focus is on wedding guest attire in Spring/Summer 2011 style. Some of you are looking forward to attending spring or summer weddings and have asked me about good shops to look for outfits in. My favourites would be Phase 8, Artigiano, L K Bennett, Hobbs, Netaporter and Coast. There are some lovely outfits to be found there.
I have recently written an article for Roberta Sabatini The Italian Specialist, about bridal make-up in hot weather (a bit of a slippery subject!). Roberta can arrange beautiful weddings in Italy for people who live in the UK. Apparently it can be less expensive than in England! Do have a look even, if it is just for a bit of escapism! www.robertasabatini.com |

Colour Me Beautiful has brought out four lovely new eyeshadows. Purple, Eau de Nil, Pistachio and Golden Honey. A number of items have been discontinued, but I still have stocks of most things if you need. Contact me if you would like to drop round and have a play! Finally, I am doing a special Mother's Day offer. If you wish to treat your mother to a Colour consultation you can come along with her and have one yourself at half price. My Blog ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have recently posted my Spring/Summer 2011 Style guide. (Colour and Styles. Accessories will be posted soon.) You can study these to help you work out what you should go for this season to keep you on trend. And remember that you may not need to buy a thing, just burrow deep into your wardrobe. http://angelaweyersimage.wordpress.com/ |

February 2011 I write this on a very wet, gloomy February day which reminds me that we are definitely not out of winter yet even though we have had some glorious mild and sunny days recently. We are certainly in an in-between period, bored with our winter clothes but it's too cold to think about summer ones. But in a month's time I will have started to write my Spring/Summer Style guide which will tell you what to look for in the shops that will suit you this summer. I will also have news of some exciting new make-up products from CMB. Meanwhile let's enjoy vamping up for Valentines Day and get on with weeding our wardrobes. My own blog this month has taken the naughty theme of Boudoir Lingerie . I do think we could, and should, all enjoy owning at least one set of beautiful underwear, and not just for Valentine's Day! Have a look, and don't forget to subscribe if you would like to receive my blogs directly into your inbox. http://angelaweyersimage.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/boudoir-banter/ Just a suggestion: would you like to suggest a Valentine's present to your significant other? Remember I do do gift vouchers! January 2011 Happy New Year to you! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break. Some exciting news from CMB is that they now have an App for the iPhone. So, if you have one you can download it and use it to analyse your colours. Even put in a photo of yourself and see yourself in some flattering colours for you. (Of course it will never replace coming and having a complete session with me, but it is rather fun!) Just put Colour Me Beautiful in the search box for apps. Everyone likes to start the new year afresh and I think a great way to do that is by having a wardrobe weed. Once you have got rid of unflattering and worn out clothes and organised your wardrobe to work more efficiently for you, finding outfits in the morning should be far easier. See my blog for how to go about doing it! http://bit.ly/fQcUwG Do post a comment if you feel moved to do so! Also, I have just posted a blog entitled "Golden Globes-Who got their colours right?" Have a look! http://bit.ly/hz69Z8
I will be having a Christmas Open Evening on Tuesday 7th December and I would be delighted if you would drop in any time between 6pm and 10pm at 39 Arlington Road, Ealing, W13 8PF. You will have the opportunity to have a mini manicure by Amba, find the perfect party lipstick/eye-make-up (or just get advice from me on the make-up that suits you). There will also be beautiful jewellery from Rosa on sale, as well as Scarves and Books (including the new book by Colour me Beautiful "Colour Me Slimmer!" Not on sale anywhere else as yet!) There will be 10% off Gift vouchers for any of my services, so if you were thinking of giving one of my consultations as a present, my Christmas Open Evening is the time to get it! In addition to all that there will be festive drinks and nibbles and the chance to meet a wonderful female photographer, Yaffa, and hear about her services including her lovely "Boudoir" session! (I hope that's intrigued you!) For catering purposes it would be great if you could let me know that you are coming. Feel free to bring a companion or two!
November 2010 What a stunning autumn we've had! As someone who adores colour I can't help but be really stimulated and excited about all the colours I see around me especially those in Walpole Park, Ealing where I walk my dog. We all have an emotional response to colour, whether we know it or not. I recently attended a course on Colour Psychology and learnt a lot of interesting facts such as Pink, the colour of nurturing and compassion, is a great colour to wear if you want to attract people to you, whether you are male or female. Red, of course, is energising and stimulating, so great to wear when exercising. It is actually a good colour for a woman to wear a little of (too much can be domineering) if you work with men as it can play down any vulnerability or weakness associated with the feminine. But it needs to be the right red for you! I will be incorporating my new knowledge into my Colour Consultations in the future. I have been blogging away and have put several articles up since last month. The latest one is on the wonderful trend for the oversized sweaters worn over narrow leg trousers or skirts. Most people should be able to do this trend and it really is liberating. No worries about what your tummy/thighs/bottom are doing! It hides it all! Do have a read: I would be delighted if you would link in with me and especially if you would write a recommendation for me. Remember too, I have a Facebook page and put up all sorts of interesting things on that (such as links to videos on how to tie scarves)! http://on.fb.me/9NPFDJ
OCTOBER 2010 A new way you can communicate with me is to go on my new Facebook page Angela Weyers Image Colour Me Beautiful ( http://on.fb.me/9NPFDJ ).Those of you who have Facebook accounts can Like my page (just click the LIKE button at the top of the page) and then you will see regular updates from me with details of forthcoming events and interesting news such as the new Debenhams fashion campaign featuring models over the age of 40. Feel free to comment or even ask questions! In addition to that I now blog regularly on http://angelaweyersimage.wordpress.com/ This is how you can access my Seasonal Style Guide in which I go through each season's styles and colours in relation to your colouring, bodyshape and personality. (I always give a print-out of this at my Style Consultations.) Parts 1 and 2 of Autumn/Winter 10 is up and waiting for you to have a look and find out what will suit YOU this season! Remember too, if you fancy joining Twitter, I tweet regularly all sorts of interesting things. You don't have to be registered to have a look! http://twitter.com/AngelaWeyers Finally, if any of you work in the Chelsea or Marylebone area, I will be doing mini-colour consultations again as part of a shopping evening at Feather and Stitch. 21st October at 8 Elystan Street, Chelsea and 28th October at 2 Marylebone Street, Marylebone. Both will start around 6pm - 9pm. It would be lovely to see you! http://www.featherandstitch.com/index.htm
SEPTEMBER 2010 I will be giving free mini-colour consultations at a Richmond Pamper Party at the lovely boutique, Feather and Stitch on Thursday 9th September, 6 - 9pm. RSVP to Feather and Stitch 07980 920 432 or info@featherandstitch.com . JULY 2010 I have just come back from 4 glorious days in Umbria, Italy (through www.allinitalian.co.uk ). We went with Ryan Air (my first time) and I decided to just take carry-on luggage. I invested in a Samsonite B-Lite 55cm wheeled case which fits within all the airlines measurements for cabin luggage, but only weighs 2.3kg!! It was the lightest, most capacious case I could find and it really did me proud. I even managed to add in some purchases on the way back. Pricey at £115 but well worth it to avoid having to check baggage in and then wait for it at the other end. Try www.baggagefactory.co.uk! Just to remind you, I will be doing mini-colour consultations at The Brentham Club (Meadvale Road, Ealing) on Friday evening (July 16th). There will also be Alexander Technique and Indian Facial Rejuvenation sessions amongst other things. (£5 to get in and then £10 per session). So do come along if you can.
JUNE 2010 I am writing this on the day that the England Football team has landed in South Africa and will be preparing for their first match on June 12th. For all you World Cup Widows out there I have a suggestion! Why not get two or three friends together and come and have a Make-up, Colour or Style party with me while your men are glued to their plasma screens. A jug of Pimms will be included for the duration of the World Cup. Just email me for details. My other news is to tell you that I am now on www.twitter.com/AngelaWeyers and am regularly Tweeting. So if you would like to hear my thoughts on what Vanessa Feltz is wearing, what I am seeing in the shops and any other stylish pearls of wisdom I come up with, do register with Twitter and start following me. My guide to Marks and Spencer in terms of Style personalities. Limited Collection = Dramatic; Per Una = Romantic; Classic = Classic; Indigo Collection = Natural; Autograph = City Chic; Portfolio = City Chic (good for Rounds and Rectangles and do have a look at the Portfolio underwear!). Creatives will rarely shop in M&S for a whole outfit but will find useful bits from any part of the shop including Mens. If you don't know what your Style Personality is, book in for a Style Consultation with me! M&S SS10
MAY 2010 It's wedding season right now and if you need an outfit for a wedding you have been invited to, now is a great time to be looking! My recommended shops include Phase Eight, L K Bennett, Coast, Precis Petite, Artigiano and of course, Marks and Spencer. M&S also has a lovely range of hats and fascinators in wonderful colours. Perfect for adding an accent colour to an otherwise neutral outfit. Another great website to look at is www.weddingshoesdirect.co.uk . This company has a huge range of shoe styles which you can have dyed or even covered in a fabric of your choice, without breaking the bank. (Great for all those Creatives out there! You know who you are!) Enjoy the May blossom (if not the chilly weather!) If you would like to receive my monthly tips straight to your inbox along with the CMB newsletter (full of tips on how to keep your unique colouring and style up to date) email me your details and I will add you to my emailing list.
